About

Hello and welcome -- I'm so glad you're here! I am Dr. Seth Williams, a licensed psychologist in Corvallis, Oregon. The focus of my professional life is supporting people to live their best lives even with all the physical, mental and/or spiritual challenges they encounter. I find every person sacred, special, and unique. When I meet you, I will try to learn about your life as you experience it. I want to know what is going well, and what feels harder than you think it should be. Together we make plans to try some ideas to increase your happiness. Most of this work happens between visits as it's your life, but you can use your therapy appointments to make sure you are moving forward on the plans you pick with my support. Let's figure your goals out and get moving towards them!

Education & Licensure
MA and PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University - Minneapolis, Minnesota; Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Virginia (Charlottesville).
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I have had the great fortune to have neurodivergent people among my family and friends, and have supported neurodivergent clients in my work for over 25 years. I am inspired by the strengths, perspectives, and resilience of the autistic community, and I strive to provide support that honors each person’s unique experiences. I see neurodivergence as a natural set of variations among the huge diversity of human experience. In my opinion, sometimes neurodivergence includes gifts superior to how most neurotypicals function, but oftentimes society is not set up to include all the diversity in the world. My goal is to help you navigate challenges, build on your strengths, and develop any skills that enhance your life and relationships. Together, we can work toward a life where you feel understood, supported, and able to thrive.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My support begins from an Existential framework: I try to learn the threads that make up your life story and then from a Narrative framework, consider how you want these threads to continue from here. Your stories are still unfolding! You can continue your exploration and growth in any number of ways. Let's explore some potential next steps!
