About

Hello and welcome! I’m really glad you’re here. My name is April Roberts, and I’m a licensed psychologist based in Florida. Through PSYPACT, I’m able to provide telehealth services to individuals in many participating states, which allows me to work with clients across the country.I specialize in psychological assessments, including autism evaluations conducted online. I understand that pursuing an evaluation can feel both exciting and uncertain, and my goal is to make the process as comfortable, supportive, and transparent as possible.I take a neurodiversity-affirming and strengths-based approach to assessment. Every person’s brain and life story are unique, and this process is about understanding your experiences in a thoughtful and respectful way. My hope is that the evaluation provides clarity, validation, and practical guidance that supports your goals and well-being.

Education & Licensure
Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Arizona; Master’s in Addictions Counseling from the University of Arizona; Master’s in Clinical Psychology and PsyD from Nova Southeastern University
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I specialize in working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals because I believe understanding how your brain works can be incredibly powerful. Many adults spend years feeling different, misunderstood, or unsure why certain things have felt harder for them. Being able to explore these experiences in a thoughtful and respectful way can bring clarity, validation, and relief.I am passionate about providing assessments that are compassionate, thorough, and neurodiversity-affirming. My goal is not simply to assign a label, but to help individuals better understand their own patterns, strengths, and challenges so they can move forward with greater self-awareness and support.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My approach is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and a strong respect for neurodiversity. I believe that neurological differences are a natural part of human diversity, and my role is to help individuals better understand how their minds work while honoring their unique strengths and perspectives.Throughout the assessment process, I strive to create an environment where clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences openly. I focus on identifying strengths, patterns, and supports that can help individuals navigate their lives more confidently and authentically. My goal is for clients to leave the evaluation process with greater self-understanding, validation, and practical guidance.
