About
Hi! I’m Ann, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin with more than 25 years of experience in the mental health and substance use field. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with people from many different backgrounds and at many different points in their lives. I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself — without judgment or expectations about who you “should” be. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and straightforward, with a little humor when it fits. Together, we can build on your strengths, better understand what is getting in your way, and work toward changes that are meaningful to you.
Over the years, I’ve learned how important it is to understand the person in front of me rather than trying to fit someone into a particular box. I’m drawn to working with autistic and neurodivergent adults because everyone deserves a space where they can feel heard, understood, and accepted for who they are. I enjoy helping people better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, navigate challenges, and develop strategies that actually fit their lives. My goal is not to change who you are, but to support you in building a life that works for you.
I start by meeting you where you are and taking the time to understand what matters most to you. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and therapy should be collaborative rather than one-size-fits-all. We’ll identify the strengths you already have, explore patterns or challenges that may be getting in your way, and develop practical strategies that fit you and your life. I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space, while also being straightforward and willing to gently challenge you when it can help you grow.
