About

Hello and welcome! My name is Anita, and I’m a licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. I also have 25 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Most recently, I worked in vocational rehabilitation, integrating mental health support, disability services, counseling, and case management.

‍

I believe therapy works best in a warm, safe, and nonjudgmental space where you feel genuinely seen and heard, gain a deeper understanding of yourself, and explore how you navigate the world around you. I’m here to walk alongside you, support you in building on your strengths, and help you work toward your personal goals so you can live a life that feels authentic and true to you.

Education & Licensure
Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling, University of North Texas, Denton.
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I am motivated to work with neurodivergent adults because I am passionate about creating a space where everyone feels valued and respected. I also have the lived experience of supporting loved ones with neurodivergent differences and am inspired by their strength and resilience. My goal is to help you build on your strengths and develop skills to navigate challenges. Together, we can work toward a life where you feel understood, supported, and able to thrive.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My approach is person-centered and strengths-based, helping you identify your strengths and values and improve your well-being through collaborative work toward your individualized goals. I use an integrated approach with practical, evidence-based tools, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming care tailored to your unique needs. I look forward to working with you on your wellness journey and empowering you to overcome challenges and live authentically.
