About

Hello there and welcome to Prosper Health! I’m Dr. Angela, and I’m so glad you’re taking this important step in caring for yourself. I am currently based in Georgia, where I work as a professional counselor, and I’m also licensed as a clinical psychologist in Tennessee. My journey in the mental health field spans over 20 years, during which I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals through a wide range of life's challenges and concerns. For the past 4 years, I’ve focused my practice as a clinical psychologist on providing specialized, autism-specific evaluations, combining my long-term counseling background with a deep commitment to neurodiversity-affirming care. For me, this work isn't just about finding a label—it's about helping you find the "missing piece" of your story so you can move forward with a sense of peace and self-advocacy. My goal is to move beyond simply "checking boxes" and instead create a warm, identity-affirming space that honors your unique differences. I am deeply committed to celebrating the diversity of how our minds work and helping others navigate their own path with confidence and clarity.

Education & Licensure

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My "why" really comes down to the idea that everyone deserves to understand how their own mind works. After more than 20 years as a therapist, I shifted my focus toward adult autism and neurodivergent evaluations because I saw so many people navigating life without a clear understanding of why they felt so out of sync with the world around them. It is difficult to find clarity when the system doesn't account for these unique differences, often leaving people to navigate that disconnect on their own. I wanted to move beyond traditional therapy to become a source of validation and advocacy through the evaluation process. There’s something truly special about the moment when the "why" finally clicks—providing that affirming lens that changes the conversation from "what’s wrong with me?" to "this is just how my brain works." Helping people trade self-doubt for self-understanding is the heart of my work.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I’m a big believer that a diagnosis shouldn’t be a list of what’s "broken"—it’s really about discovering the strengths you have and understanding the differences that make you who you are. In my work, I deliberately move away from the traditional model that only looks for deficits. Instead, I focus on honoring your unique profile to uncover how your brain navigates the world and identify the specific strengths that make you uniquely you.I really value treating our time together as a collaborative investigation. You’re the expert on your own life; I’m just here to help you map it out. Through my approach and clinical style, I try to create a space where you feel safe enough to show up as your authentic self. This process is all about understanding differences and helping you realize your full potential, while moving closer toward a space of greater clarity and self-empowerment.Having spent my career serving marginalized communities, I bring a culturally responsive and identity-affirming lens to everything I do. I understand the layers of complexity that come with navigating the world as a person of color and a member of an underserved group. This background helps me advocate for others with a real understanding of how systemic barriers and our intersecting identities shape our lived experience. My goal is to make sure your journey toward clarity feels empowering and genuinely affirming every step of the way.
