About
Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Andrew Oshobu. I currently live in the DFW area and am licensed in Texas. I am passionate about supporting individuals on their journey toward greater well-being and self-understanding. As a clinician, I believe in creating a safe, compassionate space where you feel truly heard and understood. My goal is to partner with you, helping you find resilience and uncover strengths as we work together through life’s challenges. Every person’s journey is unique, and I’m committed to offering care that is as individual as you are. You know your life better than anyone, and my role is to walk alongside you, bringing tools, perspective, and genuine support as we work through whatever you're facing. I don't see myself as the expert in the room — you are.
My motivation for working with adults with autism stems from the desire to help those who are often unheard and often don't know where to go for support. As an older brother to someone with autism, it is not easy to go through life with issues that are still not fully understood. In addition, I have had patients in the mental health hospitals who would take value to such support to make changes in their lives. I am also inspired by the strengths, perspectives, and resilience of the community, and I strive to provide support that honors each person’s unique experiences. My goal is to help clients navigate challenges, build on their strengths, and develop skills that enhance their daily lives and relationships. Together, we can work toward a life where you feel understood, supported, and able to thrive.
My approach blends cognitive-behavioral techniques to help you challenge unhelpful thought patterns using evidenced based techniques. I believe therapy works best when we address both immediate symptoms and deeper patterns, creating change that lasts, and recognizing what works best for you as well as the core beliefs that enable maladaptive behaviors. I prioritize an affirming and strengths-based approach to ensure that every individual feels seen, valued, and empowered. I believe that each client possesses unique strengths and abilities that can be harnessed to navigate challenges and achieve personal goals. I actively listen to their experiences and validate their feelings, creating a safe space where they can express themselves authentically.
