Andrew Orayfig
About
My name is Andy Orayfig, and I work out of St. Louis and am a licensed psychologist in the state of Missouri. My areas of clinical interest are trauma recovery/resilience, neurodivergence, multicultural issue, religion/spirituality and health psychology. I enjoy bringing a compassionate and trauma focused lens to the work, and serving the whole person and/or family. I have a young daughter, dog, and cat. In my free time, I am a songwriter, story teller, hiker, and amateur singer and music producer.
My passion for serving neurodivergent individuals comes from my passion for trauma care and resilience. A high percentage of neurodivergent individuals have experienced one more traumatic events, and it can often be more difficult than others for these individuals to recover, especially without adequate social skills or resources. I care very much about helping these individuals thrive in the midst of various sources of adversity.
I find it helpful to focus more on strengths and resilience than on pathology. Creating a safe and validating space is a cornerstone of effectively providing services. Clients need to feel heard and seen before they care about what we have to say.
