Amy Kelly
About
Welcome! My name is Amy Kelly, and I received my Master of Art (counseling) from Oakland University in 2017 and am licensed in Michigan. I have been working in the mental health field since 2015 and have experience working with a wide variety of individuals at all stages of their lives. My areas of specialization include life transitions, self-esteem, trauma, personality disorders, neurodivergence, and SPMI. I have training and experience in DBT, EMDR, and am a trauma certified counselor.
It is my goal to provide a space where you feel safe, heard and respected so that you can gain a better understanding about things you are struggling with in life. Whether that be life transitions, relationships, grief, work stressors etc., that may be causing you to feel stressed, stuck or unwell. At each stage in life comes challenges, I aim to help you navigate these with an approach personalized for you and your needs.
I look forward to learning more about you and working together to help you address your current challenges and achieve your goals.
I've chosen to work with neurodivergent adults to provide the services that at times can be difficult to find. My experience working with and my personal life surrounded by neurodiversity has given me a passion to provide this to others in a safe and nonjudgmental space. Growth and healing can be challenging, but with support it can be a lot easier.
Not every person is the same so why would treatment be the same for everyone? I use a person-centered approach first and foremost but have experience and training in a variety of modalities so that your treatment is tailored to you and your needs. I prioritize a safe and nonjudgmental environment to help you to feel comfortable and empowered.
