About
Hello and welcome! My name is Amy Fox. I live in Rockville, Maryland and am licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Virginia and also as a Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical (LCSW-C) in Maryland. I specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and concerns related to gender identity. I especially enjoy supporting individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward, and who are looking for a safe, supportive space to better understand themselves and create meaningful change. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in meeting you where you are. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment Theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), tailoring treatment to fit your unique needs and goals. I value an open and honest therapeutic relationship and welcome ongoing feedback. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, more understood, and more equipped to navigate life’s challenges in a way that feels sustainable and authentic to you. If you have questions or are wondering whether therapy might be a good fit, I’d be glad to connect and learn more about you.
I have always had a strong passion for working with neurodivergent clients and those on the spectrum, as they exhibit such strength and resilience in navigating life day to day. I have learned so much from this population and truly enjoy working with neurodivergent clients to build on their strengths, develop skills and enhance their daily lives and relationships.
I prioritize an affirming and strengths-based approach to ensure that every individual feels seen, valued, and empowered. I believe that each client possesses unique strengths and abilities that can be harnessed to navigate challenges and achieve personal goals. I actively listen to their experiences and validate their feelings, creating a safe space where they can express themselves authentically.
