About

Hello and welcome! I am glad you are starting this journey. My name is Amber Woodward. I currently live in Connecticut, and am licensed in Connecticut. I’m here to create a space where you can be yourself, explore what’s on your mind, and figure out the changes you want to make in your life. Whether you’re going through a big transition, feeling burnt out, or just looking for practical tools to navigate a world that doesn’t always have your back, I’m here for it. I believe the things you love—art, music, manga, anime, video games—offer a unique perspective and can spark those "a-ha" moments. Let's bring what makes you you into our sessions to help create breakthroughs and move you forward in meaningful ways.

Education & Licensure

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

What made me want to specialize in working with autistic and neurodivergent adults is a combination of personal connection, professional experience, and a deep respect for neurodiversity. Over time, I’ve come to understand how often neurodivergent individuals are misunderstood, under-supported, or expected to conform to systems that weren’t designed with them in mind. What drew me in was the opportunity to create a space where people can be seen and supported for who they truly are—not who the world expects them to be. I’ve found that working with autistic and neurodivergent clients requires flexibility, creativity, and deep listening, all of which align with how I practice. It’s not about "fixing" anyone; it’s about recognizing strengths, supporting challenges, and working together in a way that honors each person’s unique perspective and needs.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I believe the things you love—art, music, manga, anime, video games—offer a unique perspective and can spark those "a-ha" moments. Let's bring what makes you you into our sessions to help create breakthroughs and move you forward in meaningful ways.I'm trained in DBT, CBT, and EMDR, and I incorporate techniques from music, gaming, and geek therapies to create a personalized approach that works for you. We'll ensure you always feel seen, heard, and supported together. I'll meet you where you are and keep it real.
