About

Hi and welcome— I’m really glad you’re here! My name is Dr. Riddick-Gérard, a clinical psychologist licensed in Georgia, Maryland, and California. I also hold special credentials that allow me to provide services to clients in 40+ states, thanks to an agreement called PSYPACT.  My clinical focus centers on comprehensive psychological assessment for adults, particularly those seeking clarity about autism spectrum disorder (ASD).My approach is rooted in respect for your unique experiences and strengths. I recognize that many adults come to assessment after years of feeling misunderstood, overlooked, or misdiagnosed. I am committed to providing a thorough, neurodiversity-affirming evaluation process that helps you gain insight, validation, and practical recommendations for moving forward. My work is guided by deep respect for each person’s lived experience, identity, and strengths, alongside thoughtful attention to the challenges that can arise in a world not designed for neurodivergent minds.

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

Throughout my career conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations, I have seen firsthand how often neurodivergent adults fall through the cracks of traditional healthcare systems. Many individuals spend years feeling out of sync with the world around them, carrying the heavy burden of masking their true selves just to navigate daily life. My passion for specializing in autism assessment for adults stems from a deep desire to provide the clarity and validation that has so often been missing. I have worked with countless individuals who were misdiagnosed or overlooked because their experiences did not fit a stereotypical mold. Witnessing the profound relief that comes when someone finally receives an accurate, affirming framework for their lived experience is incredibly rewarding. I am deeply committed to this work because I believe that understanding your neurodivergence is not about identifying deficits, but about uncovering your unique strengths and shedding years of misplaced shame. It is an honor to walk alongside you in this process, offering a safe, collaborative space to explore your history and help you build a more authentic, self-compassionate future.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I bring an empathic and strengths-based approach to my work by prioritizing your lived experience as the most valuable source of information. My goal is to move beyond examining symptoms and instead explore the unique ways you process, perceive, and interact with the world. I view the strategies you’ve developed over the years—often referred to as masking or compensating—not as deficits, but as profound evidence of your resilience and creativity in a world that wasn't always built for you. I am committed to creating a space where you feel safe to unmask and be truly seen, focusing on your inherent strengths—such as your unique insights, attention to detail, and persistence. By working together, we aim to transform self-doubt into self-advocacy, ensuring you leave this process with a deeper appreciation for your own mind and the confidence to pursue a life that honors your authentic self.
