About
Hello and welcome! I'm so glad you found your way here. My name is Amanda Zanko-Knight. I am licensed in Florida and live with my family in the Tampa Bay area. I am dedicated to helping others learn more about themselves through a neurodiversity lens. As a psychologist, I practice to high standards while creating a space that is affirmative and kind. My goal is to partner with individuals to make the process of self-discovery as collaborative as possible.
Working with autistic and other neurodivergent individuals has become one of the most meaningful parts of not only my career, but my own life journey. Neurodivergent clients inspire me every day, and one of the best parts of what I do is helping clients discover what makes them amazing, while also making space for the things that are genuinely hard. Sometimes that means finding creative solutions, and other times, simply creating a space based on understanding and validation can make all the difference. No two autistic individuals are alike, even when they share the same diagnosis, which creates beauty in individuality. I'm incredibly grateful to be part of a time when we're learning to better understand, appreciate, and celebrate neurodiversity.
I believe an affirming, strengths-based approach starts with actively listening to each individual, which is necessary to understanding their unique experiences and recognizing that neurodiversity looks different for everyone. I strive to create a space where individuals feel heard, understood, and validated, while also helping them recognize and embrace their strengths. I believe those strengths are the foundation for finding creative, meaningful solutions to navigate challenges in ways that work best for each neurodivergent individual.
