About
Hello, I am Dr. Alyssa Parisien. I currently live in North Dakota, where I am also licensed. I received my doctoral degree from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, MN. Since beginning my clinical work, I have developed several specialty areas, which includes assessing individuals for Autism. Evidence-based intervention and measures are important in my clinical work, as well as a multiculturally sensitive approach. My goal with Prosper Health is to make assessment for Autism much more attainable, so that my patients may get answers that they seek and accommodations they require to function in a healthy way within their everyday lives. Each person is unique, and the clinical work I provide attempts to meet each individual where they are, based on their needs to create connection.
What inspired me to specialize in working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals was the recognition that many people spend years feeling misunderstood or being told that their differences are problems to fix. I wanted to be part of creating a different experience, one that emphasizes understanding, acceptance, and meaningful support. I enjoy helping individuals and families make sense of strengths and challenges, navigate complex systems, and access resources that improve daily life. Seeing someone gain self-understanding, confidence, or the support they need is one of the most meaningful parts of my work.
I chose to specialize in working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals because I am passionate about recognizing and building upon each person's unique strengths, abilities, and perspectives. Too often, neurodivergent individuals are viewed through the lens of their challenges rather than their potential. My approach focuses on understanding who each person is, identifying what they do well, and helping them leverage those strengths to achieve their goals and thrive across environments. I believe that meaningful support begins with acceptance, respect, and genuine appreciation for neurodiversity. Through assessment, advocacy, and collaboration, I strive to empower individuals and families by fostering self-understanding, confidence, and opportunities for growth. At the heart of my work is a commitment to providing compassionate, affirming care that helps each person recognize their value and realize their full potential.
