Alissa Hochman
About
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile! My name is Alissa Hochman (pronounced Hawk-men), and I currently live in South Jersey just outside Philadelphia. I am licensed in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and PSYPACT participating states. I pride myself on using empathy, compassion, and collaboration to help clients understand themselves and build the life they deserve. In my clinical training and beyond, I have always centered equity, social justice, and cultural responsiveness with my clients. Whether we share social identities or are working across difference, I emphasize creating a safe space that makes you feel heard and cared for.
I am driven to work with adults on the spectrum because I know first-hand how important it is to have accurate diagnosis and self-understanding. Getting diagnosed later in life can lead to a lot of reflecting about the past and hope for the future. I am honored to be the person who can give you clarity about what makes you uniquely you. I want people to understand that autism is a neuro*difference* and that neurodiversity really can be a superpower.
I truly believe that every person moves through life with the best coping skills and abilities they have been able to learn. From that perspective, I work with clients to build upon skills they already have, reframe challenges to understand why they developed, and help empower clients to choose when and how to tap into the parts that make a client uniquely them.
