About

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Dr. Ali Siewert, a licensed clinical psychologist. I practice out of Michigan and am PSYPACT-authorized to provide telehealth services in 40+ states and territories. Being human is often tough, and this can be especially true you are feeling unseen or misunderstood as your authentic self. I have years of clinical experience working with neurodivergent individuals in both assessment and therapy roles. I look forward to working with you, hearing your story, and providing support and clarity you can carry forward.

Education & Licensure
Psy.D. and M.S. in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology; Bachelors in Psychology from Grand Valley State University
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I believe that knowledge is power, and the more information you have about yourself, the better equipped you will be to navigate life’s challenges. Since becoming a psychologist, I have worked with a number of neurodivergent adults who were previously misdiagnosed or “passed” as neurotypical, even while struggling in school, at work, or in their relationships. I understand the shame and guilt that can come with a misdiagnosis or lack of appropriate diagnosis and support, and my goal is to provide insight and clarity around your experiences, both past and present. For many people, an assessment can help connect the dots and provide validation around what you already understand and know to be true about yourself. Regardless of your evaluation results, my priority is for you to know you are respected, heard, and celebrated for who you authentically are.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I very firmly believe that you are the expert of your own life and experiences, and I understand the inherent power differential that exists in any kid of clinical or medical space. I take a strengths-based approach, meaning that while working together, I will take my time to understand you as a whole person, not just your symptoms or the areas in which you may be struggling. Often with neurodivergence, people have come to develop creative and adaptive ways of thinking, problem-solving, and connecting with others, and these strengths deserve as much attention as any challenges you may have faced. Autism is not something to be fixed, and my hope is that you leave our work together feeling seen, validated, and better equipped to live more authentically.
