About
Hello and welcome! I’m delighted you’re here. My name is Alexandra, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) practicing in California, based in the San Diego area. I bring a diverse background that blends clinical work with research—having contributed to studies on clinician burnout and the transition to parenthood at SDSU and UCSD.My practice is rooted in a holistic, trauma‑informed approach, and I’m especially passionate about serving communities of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, low‑income families, and neurodivergent clients. I draw on evidence‑based tools such as the Gottman Method while honoring each person’s unique cultural and personal strengths.I strive to create a safe, compassionate space where you feel truly seen, heard, and valued. Together we’ll explore your strengths, navigate life’s transitions, and build the resilience you deserve. Every journey is distinct, and I’m committed to providing care that’s as individual as you are.
I was drawn to work with autistic and neurodivergent clients because I deeply respect neurodiversity and the remarkable strengths, perspectives, and resilience this community offers. In my couples‑therapy practice I’ve repeatedly seen neurodivergent voices misunderstood or overlooked, which, combined with my own lived experience, motivated me to create a safe, affirming space where these individuals feel truly seen, heard, and valued. As a woman of color who is also neurodivergent, I understand how transformative genuine compassion and cultural humility can be. While my background informs my empathy, I honor that each client’s journey is uniquely theirs, shaped by their own strengths and perspectives. I commit to recognizing each person’s neurological makeup, highlighting the abilities they already possess, and collaboratively building on those strengths so they can navigate daily life, deepen relationships, and thrive in a world that celebrates their authentic selves.
I center my work on an affirming, strengths‑based approach that celebrates each person’s inherent resilience; pulling from those strengths to work on areas of growth. By meeting clients exactly where they are, I create a compassionate, trauma‑informed space where their experiences are heard and validated. I actively listen, highlight the skills, values, and coping strategies they already bring to life’s challenges, and collaboratively build on those strengths to foster growth and empowerment. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community and a practitioner dedicated to cultural humility, I bring lived‑experience insight that helps clients from marginalized groups feel seen, respected, and supported in realizing their full potential.
