About
Greetings! I am Aleeah Muhammad Washington. I am licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Georgia and South Carolina (telehealth compact). I am an integrative, relational therapist who draws from Attachment Theory, Relational/Systems Theory, CBT, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Human Validation Process Theory. I have experience working with individuals across the lifespan, as well as couples and families in medical, community, and private practice settings.I am especially passionate about working with women and feminine-presenting individuals navigating self-esteem, people-pleasing, and boundary challenges. I also enjoy working with couples and relational systems, as I believe that processing dynamics in real time can lead to deeper, more lasting change. Additionally, I support men and masculine-presenting individuals in developing emotional awareness and learning how to integrate both emotion and logic in a healthy, authentic way.My approach is warm, collaborative, and intentional. I will often invite you to move beyond “I’m fine” and explore what you are truly feeling. I believe that naming emotions is a powerful first step toward change, and I incorporate mindfulness, body awareness, and guided reflection to help you build a stronger connection with your inner world.I view therapy as a partnership—you are the expert in your life, and I am here to support, guide, and challenge you in meaningful ways. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, understood, and empowered to grow.Outside of the therapy room, I am a first-time mom to a beautiful, medically complex daughter and have been happily married to my college sweetheart. I value family deeply and enjoy reading, dancing, yoga, meditation, and music whenever I can find the time.
I am aspiring to grow in my expertise working with neurodivergent and autistic adults because I desire to help them be comfortable without masking. I know it is harder to navigate aspects of life differently and be questioned about it by non-neurodivergent individuals. It can be isolating and down right disrespectful at times the comments that can be told to you. That environment can set a tone to avoid being too this-or too that. I want to help break that fear down, repurpose it to a new story where the individual knows that their uniqueness is powerful and worth co-experiencing with others. That they are worthy of being respected for being themselves. They just happen to experience autism, depression, ADHD, or another diagnosis. Labels are not meant to define you. They are meant to educate , not become a personality trait. I am person-centered so whatever my client(s) want to work on to become their best selves, and it does not harm themselves or others, I am all for it.
As a person who values authenticity, transparency, humor, and a zest for life. I transmit that in our sessions so no matter how small it may seem in the moment, I shine light on YOUR wins, YOUR strengths, and YOUR growth areas throughout the therapy process so you can learn how to affirm yourself and graduate from therapy with the skills your need to Prosper.
