About

I’m really glad you’re here. Taking the step to better understand yourself can feel meaningful, emotional, and sometimes long overdue. I’m Dr. Aimee, a licensed psychologist with a background in psychological assessment and adult mental health. I am licensed in Florida, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, and Washington, DC.I’m especially passionate about working with adults who are exploring questions related to neurodivergence, autism, ADHD, anxiety, masking, burnout, or long-standing patterns of feeling different, misunderstood, overwhelmed, or out of sync with the world around them. Many adults seek support after years of compensating, adapting, or wondering whether there is a clearer way to understand their experiences. I see this process as an opportunity to bring clarity, language, and context to your story. When we work together, my goal is to create an experience that feels respectful, collaborative, and validating. I do not view neurodivergence through a deficit-only lens, and I do not believe the purpose of care is to “fix” who you are. Instead, I want to help you better understand your strengths, your needs, your patterns, and the types of support that may help you feel more comfortable and authentic in your life.My hope is that you leave our work together with a deeper sense of self-understanding, practical next steps, and a clearer path toward living in a way that honors who you are.

Education & Licensure
I have a PsyD in psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University in NJ and a MA in applied psychology from New York University (NYU).
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My interest in working with autistic and neurodivergent adults comes from a deep respect for the many different ways people experience, process, and move through the world. I have always been drawn to helping people make sense of their inner experience, especially when they have spent years feeling misunderstood, mislabeled, or like they had to work harder than others just to get through daily life.I chose this path because I believe accurate understanding can be incredibly powerful. For many adults, exploring neurodivergence can bring language to experiences they have carried for a long time, including masking, burnout, sensory overwhelm, social exhaustion, anxiety, ADHD, or feeling “different” without knowing why. My goal is to create a space where you do not have to prove or explain away your experience, but instead feel respected, heard, and understood.I also care deeply about autonomy. I believe the purpose of this work is not to place you in a box, but to help you better understand your strengths, needs, patterns, and supports. My hope is that our work helps you feel more confident in who you are and more equipped to make choices that support your well-being, relationships, and daily life.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I bring an affirming and strengths-based approach by starting with respect for who you already are. I am neurodivergent myself, and that part of my identity shapes the way I understand this work. I know how important it is to feel seen accurately, not reduced to a checklist of symptoms or judged through a deficit-based lens.In my work, I focus on understanding your full experience, including your strengths, values, patterns, needs, and the ways you have learned to navigate the world. Challenges matter, of course, but they are not the whole story. I want to understand what has helped you cope, adapt, mask, problem-solve, connect, persist, and protect yourself over time.My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and affirming. I listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and work to create a space where you can be honest about your experience without feeling like you have to perform, minimize, or over-explain. My goal is to help you better recognize your strengths, understand your needs, and feel more supported in building a life that feels authentic, sustainable, and aligned with who you are.
