About

Hi there! I'm Dr. Ailema Frigerio and I'm a Florida licensed psychologist and PSYPACT credentialed. I have worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds and at many different stages of life, helping them navigate challenges, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change. As a bilingual (English and Spanish) practitioner, I value creating a space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and understood. Above all, I believe each person brings unique strengths, experiences, and perspectives, and I work collaboratively with clients to build on those strengths rather than focusing solely on difficulties.

Education & Licensure
PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University; Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I chose to work with autistic adults because this population is often overlooked, misunderstood, and underserved. Many autistic adults face significant bias and systemic barriers, which can be even more evident for individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. I strive to offer my clients individualized support, honoring cultural values and identities, and aligning interventions with each person’s communication style, strengths, and lived experiences.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

Approaching my work from a neuroaffirming perspective is essential to me as I believe autism is a natural form of human neurodiversity, not something that needs to be “fixed.” My goal is to support autistic adults in understanding themselves, navigating a world that is not always designed with them in mind, and building lives that align with their values, strengths, and needs.
