About

Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Dr. Sandoval, a clinical psychologist based in San Diego, and licensed in California. I have been working in the field since 2009. My approach has always been a little more nuanced. I am formally trained in neuropsychology, and I thrive off  helping others realize and then meet their potential. I do this in a compassionate, efficient, and ethical manner, while incorporating my expertise in brain function, eliciting intrinsic motivation, and identifying personal truths.

Education & Licensure
Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology with Neuropsychology concentration from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology; Masters in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology; Bachelors in Psychology with Brain/Behavior concentration from Loyola Marymount University
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I began specializing, studying, and learning from the neurodivergent population early in my training. I first had an intrinsic interest in understanding the differences in learning, memory, attention, emotion regulation and interpersonal skills. Then as I gained more experience, my heart grew to love and want to continue to support individuals that I believe are underserved and sometimes neglected in several healthcare, educational, and forensic arenas.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

Different does not mean bad. In a clinical and professional setting, I am a firm believer that the room belongs to the patient, intern, student, etc. It is not a platform to indoctrinate, convince, or judge. I aim to create and safe and ethical environment regardless of diagnosis, ideologies or preferences. I take a strength approach and help you feel comfortable. I am here to listen and help. I am not here to judge or push. Come as you are. Let’s see if we can get some answers and possibly provide you with ways to maneuver the world in a less stressful manner.
