About
Hi, I’m Ahmad, a clinical psychologist based in Durham and licensed in North Carolina. I strive to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard and understood. My approach is collaborative – I believe that by exploring both strengths and challenges, we can find effective ways to move through life’s hurdles together. Empathy and understanding are at the heart of my work, and my goal is to help you feel supported, informed, and empowered as you work toward your personal goals.
My motivation for working with autistic adults grew out of my graduate training in assessment, where I observed the difficulty in obtaining an accurate diagnosis. Too often, people face barriers or receive incomplete information that leaves them feeling misunderstood and their symptoms unaddressed. I’m passionate about helping individuals gain clarity around their experiences, because I believe that understanding yourself can be a powerful step towards self-acceptance and adapting to challenges. For many, an accurate diagnosis also opens doors to resources and support that make daily life more manageable. It is incredibly rewarding to be part of this journey alongside my clients!
I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable showing up as their authentic selves, as I believe this is the foundation of strength and well-being. To support that, I make it a priority to understand and honor the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives each person brings into the room. With a balance of knowledge, empathy, and encouragement, my goal is to help clients adapt to life’s challenges with greater confidence and to feel more effective and empowered in their daily lives.
