About

Hello and welcome! I’m Dr. Adam Shemony, a licensed clinical psychologist in Florida. I’m passionate about mental health and helping people better understand themselves through psychological assessment and psychotherapy. I approach each relationship with curiosity and without judgment. I want to understand your experiences and what matters most to you. Our work is grounded in evidence based and affirming care, with a focus on making sure you feel heard and understood throughout the process.

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My interest in working with autistic adults and other neurodivergent individuals comes from both personal and professional experiences that have had a lasting impact on me. I’ve had the opportunity to work with neurodivergent people across the lifespan, and those experiences have shaped the way I approach my work today. They’ve taught me a lot about how differently we can experience the world and how important it is to take the time to understand each person’s perspective. I’m passionate about helping people better understand themselves and making sure they feel seen for who they are, rather than feeling like they need to fit a particular mold.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I know that reaching out for mental health support can feel like a big step, especially if you’ve had experiences where you didn’t feel understood. I try to make our interactions feel natural and comfortable, so you can show up as yourself without worrying about being judged. I want to understand more than just the things you may be struggling with. Your experiences and the ways you’ve learned to navigate the world are an important part of your story. During an assessment, we’ll explore what has brought you here and what you hope to learn about yourself. My goal is for the process to feel collaborative, with feedback that helps you make sense of your experiences and gives you a clearer understanding of yourself. This is a space where you can ask questions, share what feels important to you, and explore things at your own pace. I take an affirming approach to LGBTQ+ identities and believe that your experiences deserve to be understood in the context of your life.
