About
Hello, and welcome! I'm Dr. Adam Garland, a licensed psychologist based in Texas. I'm glad you've found your way here. My passion is psychological assessment, and my internship and residency both focused on autism evaluation. I've seen how meaningful an assessment can be: it can offer clarity, put words to experiences you may have carried for years, and open the door to a deeper understanding of how your mind works. My hope is that our time together feels less like a clinical appointment and more like a partnership, one where you can show up as yourself and feel genuinely heard. Along the way, we'll explore what feels hard, what comes naturally, and the strengths you already carry, so you can move forward with greater confidence and self-understanding.
Early in my training, I found myself drawn to working with autistic clients. Much of that pull came from home: I have several neurodivergent family members whom I care about deeply, and I've seen how often neurodivergent people are misunderstood by the systems and people around them. That experience grew into a lasting passion for helping neurodivergent individuals and their families navigate a world that wasn't designed with them in mind. I'm continually inspired by the insight, creativity, and resilience of the neurodivergent community, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside my clients.
I believe every person already has strengths worth recognizing and building on, and I want our work to start there rather than with a list of deficits. Having neurodivergent people in my own family has shaped how I show up as a clinician: I listen with curiosity, I trust that you are the expert on your own experience, and I work to create a space where you don't have to mask or explain yourself to be understood. Together, we'll use what makes you uniquely you as the foundation for navigating challenges and reaching the goals that matter most to you.
