Assessment Info

Welcome to Prosper Health! We’re glad you’re here.

We provide assessments and neurodivergent affirming therapy to autistic adults. If you are interested in an assessment or ongoing treatment with a clinician, you’re in the right place!

This page is designed to give you more information on Prosper Health, our assessments, and the intake process.

The assessment process:

We know how hard it can be to find an adult autism assessment. We make our process as easy and seamless as possible!

Step 1: Intake

Verify insurance, complete intake and rating forms, and work with a Prosper team member to get scheduled!

  • Intake forms: Two forms that are completed as the first step in the process. Completing the Release of Information allows us to share the rating forms with your contacts. More on these forms can be found below!
  • Rating forms: Clinical rating forms that we send via email to you and the 1-2 contacts that you provided in the Release of Information. Once these are completed, we can get scheduled!

Step 2: Sessions with a psychologist

Most assessments consist of 3 sessions with a licensed psychologist

  • Clinical interviews: Two 90 minute clinical interviews, generaly scheduled within 7 days of each other. Your clinician will ask questions about your background, behavior, communication style, and more!
  • Feedback session: A 30 minute session to provide the results of the assessment, recommendations, and next steps. Generally takes place ~7 days after the second clinical interview.

Step 3: Official report

Each Prosper assessment is summarized in an official report, written and signed by your psychologist. The report is yours to do what you want with!

Step 4: Ongoing support

We can support you beyond the initial assessment with specialized therapy for autistic adults. Our team of licensed clinicians is trained in neurodivergent-affirming therapy and will work with you on a personalized support plan.

The Intake Process

Before getting scheduled, we need to bring you through a few short steps in our intake process!

  1. Earlier: Submit your information on our website. You already did this so you’re doing great!
  2. Now: If you are comfortable with your copay and want to continue, you can access and submit our intake forms here. One of these forms, called a Release of Information, asks you for contact information for two individuals who know you - one from childhood and one from the present time. These forms must be submitted via this online portal ahead of making an appointment. If you can’t think of individuals who fit these criteria, please contact us so that we can work with you on an alternative.
  3. Next: Once we receive your intake forms, we’ll send you and the two individuals that you shared with us clinical rating forms to complete
  4. Scheduling: Once all of the clinical rating forms are completed, we’ll reach out to schedule your first appointments with your psychologist!

Disclosures and caveats

The Prosper Health assessment is NOT a full neuropsych exam. It is an ASD-only assessment and is completed entirely virtually. Given this, it may not be a good fit if:

  • The case is highly complex with multiple differential diagnoses needed
  • There are immediate mental health needs for higher levels of care
  • You / the client is non-speaking, or unable to report their internal states and personal history
  • You / the client are unable or unwilling to be on camera
  • You / the client are seeking accomodations that specifcally require a physician or full neuropsych exam

Frequently asked questions

  • Is this an official diagnosis? Yes - The process includes a written report created and signed by a licensed psychologist. The psychologists are highly trained in psychological assessments and working with autistic adults. However, please see the question below about accommodations if the intent is to pursue those.
  • Can the diagnosis be used to get accomodations? With this question, we encourage people to check with the organization administering the specific accommodations that they are applying for. Every organization will have different requirements, so it is important to check with them first. This is not a full neuro-psych exam and there is not a physician involved, so if those are requirements, this is not a good fit.
  • What if I do not have people to fill our rating forms on my behalf? Please contact us so that we can discuss your specific circumstances.
  • Do you offer sliding scale payments or a payment plan? We do not offer sliding scale but we do offer payment plans. Please contact us for more information.
  • Can I start therapy without a diagnosis? Yes, therapy doesn’t require an assessment to begin. Your therapist will work with you to determine the best course of treatment based on your circumstances.
